Important Note:

As of Version 5.7.0 EASYLABEL will only install on Windows 2000 or higher. Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME and Windows NT are no longer supported. EASYLABEL 5.6 should be used on Windows 98, Windows ME and Windows NT. Windows 95 is not supported.

Important Note:

If you used Visual Studio 2003 to compile a project using EASYLABEL’s ActiveX objects with version 1.1 of the .NET framework, you may experience a crash when you run your project after upgrading to EASYLABEL 5.7.0 or higher. This is because the project tries to load .NET framework version 1.1 and then tries to load .NET framework version 2. This loading of the second .NET framework fails and that causes the crash. To correct this, compile your project using Visual Studio 2005. If this is not possible you can correct the problem if you un-install version 1.1 of the .NET framework.

The following changes/additions have been made:

1. Windows Printers and Minimum Label Size
The minimum label width and height has been reduced to 1mm. (bug# 1132)

2. Code128 Barcodes and Weighted Mod 10 Check Digit
Added support for weighted mod 10 (2-1-2) check digit calculation for Code 128 barcodes. (bug# 1165 & 1237)

3. Intermec Printers and Present Sensor
Fixed a problem where an incorrect command was sent to enable or disable the label taken (present) sensor. (bug# 1168)

4. Intermec Reset Command
Changed the reset command from a “hard” reset (printer restart) to a “soft” reset which is processed much faster. (bug# 1169)

5. TSC Printers Missing USB Option
The option to select a USB port was missing from the TTP-243 Pro and TTP-342 Pro printers. This has been corrected. (bug#1181)

6. Tharo Printers and “Bypass Flash”
When using the “Bypass Flash” option the printer driver was still querying memory contents to see which files were present in the printer. This memory query was unnecessary and has been removed. (bug# 1196)

7. cab Printers and Minimum Label Width
The XC4/300 has a minimum print width of 24mm. The XC6/300 has a minimum print width of 46mm. The previous minimum for both of these printers was 50mm. (bug# 1208)

8. Tharo Printers and Missing Mod 10 Check Digit
When adding a Mod 10 check digit to a barcode whose source of data is copied from another field, the check digit was missing from the barcode. This has been corrected. (bug# 1215)

9. SQL Database with Column Type “Image”
If an SQL database has column with a data type of “Image”, this could cause crashes in EASYLABEL, even if the column was never referenced. This has been fixed. (bug# 1216)

10. Formatted Text Fields
In some very rare cases of a text field formatted with one of the “Price” formatting options, EASYLABEL may crash when the format is opened. This has been corrected. (bug# 1221)

11. Zebra 170Xi4 300DPI
The Zebra 170Xi4 300DPI printer was missing the “Label Offset” option in the format definition screen. This has been fixed. (bug# 1223)

12. Optimization for Windows Printers
Several changes have been made to drastically reduce the time it takes to queue jobs for Windows printers. Labels containing many text fields will see the most benefit. (bug# 1226)

13. Tharo Printers Memory Card
Corrected several problems with the memory card: downloading the same file multiple times; unable to delete a file off of the memory card; and unable to upload a format file. (bug#1227)

14. Tharo Printers and Ethernet Interface
In some cases when sending data to the printer via the Ethernet interface, an “Error 0” would appear in the print queue. This could happen while downloading large font files, or sending many graphic images to the printer. This has been fixed. (bug# 1228)

15. History Logging of Users
When using the Print History options to enable logging of user events, an error message may be displayed when the event is logged to the database. This has been corrected. (bug# 1232)

16. EASYLABEL Multi-User
In some cases, Multi-User might not start correctly, even though the license server is running and the license key is visible. This has been corrected. (bug 1236)

17. Tharo Printers and Composite Barcodes
When printing certain barcodes that include a 2D composite component and requesting barcode interpretation (human readable of the linear component), the printer might give an error or the barcode might not print correctly. This has been fixed. (bug# 1240)

18. Job Separator Labels
When using a label format file as a job separator instead of just a blank label, then the number of job separator labels was wrong. This has been fixed. (bug# 1193)

19. Overlapping Fields
When text or barcode fields overlapped a shape or picture field, the text or barcode should always have been on top. This has been fixed so that the screen display always shows the correct layering of the fields. (bug# 1154)

20. New GHS Languages
Added the following new languages to the supplied GHS database: Arabic (AR), Chinese (ZH), Croation (HR), Indonesian (ID), Japanese (JA), Korean (KO), Malay (MS), Norwegian (NO), Russian (RU), Thai (TH), Turkish (TR). (bug# 1186)
